We landed in Gatwick, took a train up to London and immediately went sightseeing. We toured around the Thames near the Tower of London and Bridge, and stopped in just about every cathedral we stumbled across (many).
London was quite hectic, but the tube (subway) became easy to navigate and in two nights, we saw both Wicked (super weird in British English) and Come From Away (VERY GOOD) in the West End – even the cheap tickets were good seats!
Highlights were fish and chips, the national gallery, Victoria and Albert museum (absolutely gorgeous), London bridge, stumbling across the guard change at the Buckingham Palace, and the West End shows, of course.
